  • Anthony C. Dimond is a principal of HTL Hospitality Advisors and head of its asset management group.

Mr. Dimond has over twenty-five years experience in commercial real estate activities. During his career, he has managed every type of commercial real estate from the initial planning stage, through construction, property operations, renovation and disposition. Specific to hotels, he has consulted with numerous national and international financial institutions as well as municipalities and individual owners regarding their assets and troubled loans.

Advisory services provided include; expert witness and litigation support on numerous topics including, revenue losses, management contracts, franchise disputes, timeshare projects, insurance claims, brand standards, ownership issues and debt and collection issues. Other services include receiverships and trustee functions; development of strategic workout plans, maintenance cost audits, property and asset management, evaluations, market repositioning, on a variety of full service, limited service and resort properties located throughout the United States. A similar project assignment applicable to this one was the Donatello Hotel in San Francisco. The developer set up a condominium map for the entire project but was unable to complete the sale of the timeshares. As the Trustee I was in charge among other things with setting up and maintaining the expense allocations between the hotel and timeshare association.

Prior to joining HTL Hospitality Advisors, Mr. Dimond was a principal and founding member of Dimond Hospitality Services, Inc., a firm that specialized for over a decade in hotel and resort consulting and asset management. He also was Senior Vice President of Metric Partners, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. During his twelve year tenure with Metric Partners, Mr. Dimond directed the asset management department that was responsible for overseeing 125 commercial real estate properties located in most major and secondary markets in the country. The portfolio included 65-hotels, multi-family complexes, over thirty shopping centers, fifteen office buildings and twenty-two mobile home parks. The hotel portfolio was valued at well over $3 billion. He was the Chairman of the Acquisition Committee charged with approving the purchase and sale of all properties in the portfolio. While acting as Chairman of the committee, Metric and its affiliates purchased 55 hotels and 10 office and commercial properties.

Prior to Metric Partners, Mr. Dimond developed shopping centers, worked for the Department of the U.S. Treasury, and held various accounting and auditing positions with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company.

Mr. Dimond has given seminars on hotel asset management and receivership at Industry Conferences and has lectured on the subject of troubled real estate and asset management at the University Of California Graduate School Of Business.
